A Texas nurse is calling for Domino’s to apologize after an employee wrote a “rude” note on a late-night pizza order

AP

This Domino's order came with a side the customer didn't want.

On March 30, an unnamed employee working the night shift at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas ordered a meal for the staff from a local Domino’s Pizza.

When the food arrived, a handwritten note was scrawled on the side of a pizza: “We would appreciate it very much if you didn’t wait until 5 minutes before we close.”

According to KTVT, the nurse had placed the order with the pizza chain five minutes before the store closed at midnight.

Kerry Miller, a friend of the nurse, shared the image of the note on Facebook, calling the incident a “disgrace” and urging the chain to “stop the rudeness.”

“Nurses work long hours and eat when they can as they take care of our loved one. A business is open until they close and are in business to service the public,” Miller posted. “Domino's Pizza the nurses on 5 east deserve an apology, and I am sure as much pizza as you can deliver."

The Paris Domino’s franchise location would not comment but company spokesman Tim McIntyre sent KTVT the following statement:

“We do not condone or encourage this kind of behavior or one-sided ‘dialogue’ with our customers.”

But Miller thinks the nurses deserve more than an apology. Said the friend, “I want to see an apology to that hospital. I don’t care if they have to bring a pizza to every floor, those nurses deserve something better.”

I am here to share with you a story about one of my experiences while working as a police officer on an Indian reservation. I’ll be changing names of people and places to protect their privacy.

It was a cool, dark night. The time was 0320 hours. I had been working graveyard shift for the past week and my body was finally adjusting to my new schedule.

I sat in my patrol unit parked outside of our police station. I watched random night time vehicles pass by hoping time would go by faster. I started to get bored and in a way I was hoping something would happen. All of a sudden dispatch called me on the radio.

“Go ahead dispatch I’m free to copy”

“The employees at the Quality Inn are reporting an unknown person in the area. Unknown clothing description”

The Quality Inn wasn’t too far from the station so I left in a hurry. When I arrived at the hotel I drove into the parking lot area. I turned on my spotlight and started patrolling the area. The only vehicles in the area were all parked in the back and the front of the building was pretty much empty.

An employee approached me and said “we called you because we noticed a person on our cameras. The person walked into view of the front door camera and he stood in the empty parking lot. The person didn’t move for several minutes and he started to walk around the building. It was hard to see the person because of the bad quality of camera and when we walked out to check on the person he wasn’t anywhere near the area. The building was already locked up and we wanted you to check around.”

I shook my head and assured him that I would go around and check the area. As I began to slowly drive off he called out to me. He ran over and he was holding his small radio up to his ear. He said “I just got word that the person was spotted on the north side of the building.”

I drove to the north side of the building and conducted a security check of the area. After several minutes of driving and walking around on foot I was unable to find anyone in the area.

Just north of the hotel there is an old Boarding School that’s notorious for being haunted. I started to drive by the building and I called in to dispatch.

“I’m checking by the old boarding school”

“10-4 are you code 4? Are you checking on anyone?”

I could hear concern in the dispatch’s voice

“Negative I’m driving around by the boarding school and I’m code 4.”

After I finished my security check of the area I returned to the station. On my arrival back I checked in with dispatch

“Nothing pending but I was wanted to talk to you. When you called in earlier I heard something on the radio.”

“When you called in on the radio I could hear you clearly but I could also hear what sounded like someone mumbling. It wasn’t static because I know what that sounds like but that mumbling sounded so close as if whoever was mumbling was right next to you.”

I felt the chills go down my spine. I’ve been using that same unit for the past week and this has never happened. She also told me that all the other times I called in after that it was clear and there was no other static or interference.

I laughed and before I could walk out dispatch said “maybe the guy you were looking for was sitting there next to you.”
